Buxom-licious!

Hey Y'all! While I was away from bloggerland, I fell in love! I fell hard and quick for Buxom Lips Lipgloss! This is no small feat for me since I don't wear any makeup with the exception of my beloved nailpolish. I don't even know how to apply makeup!

I was in the city with Schnookie and my sister in law, Biker Girl, we happened into Bare Essentuals, my SIL was getting her face done and while I was bored to death I was there for moral support.

I tried to stay busy and moving, because if I stopped moving, I am sure I would have been wrestled into chair and made over. Across the room I saw the coolest packaging. I am a sucker for packaging, yep I am one of those girls! Lol! I really liked Brandi's box I liked her box better than all of the others because she rocked a fierce Afro and since I am all about natural hair, I bought it! Crazy I know, but that's how I decided on my first color of Buxom Lipgloss!

And since I spent the money I had to use it. And use it I did. I almost used that bottle right up, I was hooked. I mentioned to Schnookie how much I loved this Lipgloss and just look at what he did!

I swear i love that man! This doesn't include the four I am carrying in my handbag. Lol! Schnookie picks on me relentlessly about that, but hey a girl needs variety!

I love everything about this gloss. It's not sticky or gummy feeling. It doesn't cake up on my lips at all. The box says that it's a plumping gloss, I haven't noticed any plumping but I have noticed less lines and I have no dryness at all. The colors are universally flattering and they offer just the right amount of color and coverage. The cooling, tingling sensation takes some getting used to, but once I did I really like it now. It also has a nice vanilla scent.

Ms. B gave her seal approval, which is really saying something since she's so finicky!

(p.s. Please excuse the mess in the background. We are still settling in! )

I'm Baaaaaack!

So I know I've been missing in action and I am terribly sorry! A lot had happened in our lives. I am not even sure where to start.....so I guess I'll start at the beginning. In July, I relocated for a potentially good job (the jury is still out on this) to New York. I was all alone and probably a little depressed for almost 2 months before Schnookie and Gouda joined me. But all is well again and I'm back in the blogger groove.

I miss my mom, dad and sisters desperately but we hope to see them in December for Christmas.

We have been settling into our new lives pretty well except getting used to the change in weather has been tricky.

We are living in A brownstone which has been in Schnookie's family for many many years. It needs some TLC but we are up to the challenge!

So stay tuned for updates on the job, the new city life, renovations to the new house, and of course all things nail polish related!

New York Continued!

Ok so I tried really hard to do the whole travel log journal thing, but we were on the go so much that I was just too exhausted and hot by the end of the day to post.  Please forgive me!

I finally somewhat unpacked, if my mother could see my living room now, she would have a fit!  Luckily she always calls before she comes over. LOL!  I managed to dig my camera out of the mountain of luggage and clean laundry, I have just been so unmotivated to put things away, I am so not setting a good example for Gouda, I gotta get back on track.  Anyway, I wanted to share the rest of our pictures with you all.  I hope that you enjoy!

Not only is this a nail salon, it's also a tattoo parlor, a hair salon, they also offer piercings and they buy gold!  Talk about one stop shopping.  Look at closely at the sign, a full set is $14.99, a fill is $11.00 and the part that's flipped up says that a pedicure is $11.99!  On my first trip to New York, I thought that this shop was unique, but there are at least 3 others like it on one block!  I love this city!

Juniors Restaurant.  For those of you familiar with Puff Daddy's (now P. Diddy, I think?) show making the band, this is the restaurant that he made the band walk to across the FDR.

Riding along side Central Park, all the lights as far as you can see were red.

Now they are all green! LOL!

A glimpse of 42nd Street!

Fancy Mickey D's on 42nd Street.

I just thought that this building on Canal Street was really pretty.  I love the ornate Asian detailing.

We had a name sign made for Gouda while we were on 42nd Street.  He was so talented all of the letters were Asian inspired objects.  It looks really cool!

This is a shot of Schnookie's childhood building in Brownsville.

Thanks for traveling with us!

Black Emeralds

Today's NOTD is Brucci Black Emeralds. This is part of my NYC haul! I can't even find the words to describe this polish. It just gorgeous and application rivals some of the higher end polishes!

Day 3 Where In The World Is JennyKaye?

Soooooooooo tired! We walked and shopped our hearts out today!

Carol's Daughter flagship store in Harlem, NY. This store is absolutely beautiful. Very serene so different from the street outside where it is hustle and bustle to the max!

Near Starrite City in Brooklyn. (I think, Lol!)

Katz Deli! Words can not even begin to express how awesome the sabdwiches are here!

Schnookie and I shared the beef brisket sandwich!

Near the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

Going to sleep now, we have an early day tomorrow!

Day 2.5 Where In The World Is JennyKaye

After we left New Jersey we encountered alot of traffic leading into Brooklyn. We sat in traffic for almost 2 hours. It was nerve wracking!

Once we finally got to Coney Island everybody was starving. So we attacked the street with a vigor and excitement.

Nathan's Hotdogs the undisputed heavy weight hotdog champion on the world. This hotdog is crazy good. One word of caution, Don't Wear White!

Sausage heaven. One of each please!

Then finally we came across a spot my Brother in law declared "the spot for kabobs". Let me tell you he was so right. The meat just melts in your mouth!

Day 2 Where In The World Is JennyKaye

Day 2 we spent a lot of time crossing over bridges. Which is one of my least favorite things to do on a road trip! Lol!

Delaware Memorial Bridge crossing into New Jersey.

In New Jersey it is a law that you can not pump your own gas. Each station has an attendants to pump the gas. This is at a Wawa's near Somerset, NJ.

My sister in law Zine's sport bike!

Do those R's look familiar? Go Rutgers University!

Day 2 was so packed with activity that I will need to continue this post tomorrow along with Day 3's activities. I am way too exhausted to continue. Lol!

Pretty In Pink

I finally finished Gouda's hat, scarf and wristlets. I thought that I was finished with requests from Gouda for a while, but she informed me just last night that her 7th grade style was going to involve a lot of hats in different colors. I better start looking for patterns! Lol!!

Chef Gouda

Plain and simple, Gouda loves to cook.  She's not much for cleaning up, and since I am sort of a neat freak, we make a good kitchen duo.

She wanted to fry catfish, so since I can eat seafood all day long, I said sure.  So off to the market we went.

Don't you just love her ensemble?  I swear I don't let her leave the house like this.  Why the red towel you might ask.  According to Gouda, all great chef's have a towel close by and you can't get any closer than your shoulder.

Gouda not only loves to cook, she also loves the camera! LOL!!!

Fried Catfish.  Yummy!

Fried Shrimp.  Yes Please!

It's always interesting cooking with Gouda.  And dinner was to die for!
Also at the risk of braggin.........Gouda aced the sixth grade with all A's and B's!  WOOHOOOOOO!!!

Charged Up and Rarring To Go!

This was my NOTD for almost this whole week.  I wore this combo as a pedicure too. (Thanks Schnookie for taking the glitter off of my toes).  I swear if he didn't agree to do it, I would have passed out blacked out from bending over.

I really like everything about Orly, the brush, the bottle, the cap, and most importantly the application.  I used two thin coats of Orly Charged Up and added 2 thin coats of  FingerPaints Easel-Y-Entertained.  This combo wore like iron.  I almost had to chisel it off, but with pure acetone and felt, I didn't have to resort to hardware!

Way too many pics, but I just couldn't choose which one I liked the best!

Chinchilly FeFiFo Milly Chinchilly

Hey Ya'll!

I had an interview on Friday and a second interview on Monday.  I decided to wear Essie Chinchilly, I feel like it's somewhat of a neutral, but not your average run of the mill boring neutral!

I really like this color and I understand from All Lacquered Up that it is quite similiar to Lippmann Collection Waking Up In Vegas.  I don't know have the Lippmann, although since I love this mushroomy gray type of color, I am sure that I will end up with it soon.

The application was spot on, not troubles at all I used two coats.  I also love Essie's brush, it's so easy for me to control, which means that I usually have minimum clean up afterwards.
