Day 3 Where In The World Is JennyKaye?

Soooooooooo tired! We walked and shopped our hearts out today!

Carol's Daughter flagship store in Harlem, NY. This store is absolutely beautiful. Very serene so different from the street outside where it is hustle and bustle to the max!

Near Starrite City in Brooklyn. (I think, Lol!)

Katz Deli! Words can not even begin to express how awesome the sabdwiches are here!

Schnookie and I shared the beef brisket sandwich!

Near the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

Going to sleep now, we have an early day tomorrow!

Day 2.5 Where In The World Is JennyKaye

After we left New Jersey we encountered alot of traffic leading into Brooklyn. We sat in traffic for almost 2 hours. It was nerve wracking!

Once we finally got to Coney Island everybody was starving. So we attacked the street with a vigor and excitement.

Nathan's Hotdogs the undisputed heavy weight hotdog champion on the world. This hotdog is crazy good. One word of caution, Don't Wear White!

Sausage heaven. One of each please!

Then finally we came across a spot my Brother in law declared "the spot for kabobs". Let me tell you he was so right. The meat just melts in your mouth!

Day 2 Where In The World Is JennyKaye

Day 2 we spent a lot of time crossing over bridges. Which is one of my least favorite things to do on a road trip! Lol!

Delaware Memorial Bridge crossing into New Jersey.

In New Jersey it is a law that you can not pump your own gas. Each station has an attendants to pump the gas. This is at a Wawa's near Somerset, NJ.

My sister in law Zine's sport bike!

Do those R's look familiar? Go Rutgers University!

Day 2 was so packed with activity that I will need to continue this post tomorrow along with Day 3's activities. I am way too exhausted to continue. Lol!

Welcome to a week long special of Where In The World is JennyKaye. Everyday I will post a few different locations. This series will be more pictorial with a few comments sprinkled in for good measure. I hope you enjoy it!

Downtown Richmond, Virginia.

Hornes Reststop in Bowling Green, Virginia. A some of everything kind of place!

A crabcake sandwich from Stony's in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This crabcake was fantastic! It was all crab no filler!

Well my bunny slipper clad feet are tired and swollen! That's then end of day 1! More to come!

Pretty In Pink

I finally finished Gouda's hat, scarf and wristlets. I thought that I was finished with requests from Gouda for a while, but she informed me just last night that her 7th grade style was going to involve a lot of hats in different colors. I better start looking for patterns! Lol!!

Chef Gouda

Plain and simple, Gouda loves to cook.  She's not much for cleaning up, and since I am sort of a neat freak, we make a good kitchen duo.

She wanted to fry catfish, so since I can eat seafood all day long, I said sure.  So off to the market we went.

Don't you just love her ensemble?  I swear I don't let her leave the house like this.  Why the red towel you might ask.  According to Gouda, all great chef's have a towel close by and you can't get any closer than your shoulder.

Gouda not only loves to cook, she also loves the camera! LOL!!!

Fried Catfish.  Yummy!

Fried Shrimp.  Yes Please!

It's always interesting cooking with Gouda.  And dinner was to die for!
Also at the risk of braggin.........Gouda aced the sixth grade with all A's and B's!  WOOHOOOOOO!!!

Charged Up and Rarring To Go!

This was my NOTD for almost this whole week.  I wore this combo as a pedicure too. (Thanks Schnookie for taking the glitter off of my toes).  I swear if he didn't agree to do it, I would have passed out blacked out from bending over.

I really like everything about Orly, the brush, the bottle, the cap, and most importantly the application.  I used two thin coats of Orly Charged Up and added 2 thin coats of  FingerPaints Easel-Y-Entertained.  This combo wore like iron.  I almost had to chisel it off, but with pure acetone and felt, I didn't have to resort to hardware!

Way too many pics, but I just couldn't choose which one I liked the best!

Chinchilly FeFiFo Milly Chinchilly

Hey Ya'll!

I had an interview on Friday and a second interview on Monday.  I decided to wear Essie Chinchilly, I feel like it's somewhat of a neutral, but not your average run of the mill boring neutral!

I really like this color and I understand from All Lacquered Up that it is quite similiar to Lippmann Collection Waking Up In Vegas.  I don't know have the Lippmann, although since I love this mushroomy gray type of color, I am sure that I will end up with it soon.

The application was spot on, not troubles at all I used two coats.  I also love Essie's brush, it's so easy for me to control, which means that I usually have minimum clean up afterwards.

Curls For Gouda

Gouda just refuses to have anything normal.  She likes to challenge me in everything creative.  Which in all honesty I appreciate.  Because usually in the end, I have completed something that I am really proud of, this scarf is one such thing.

As you all know I am new to crocheting, but unlike most newbies I don't know my limitations, I am willing to jump in feet first.  Luckily with crocheting, if you mess up, it's a whole lot easier to pull out stitches, then it is in sewing.  While we were in the hospital, I tried to keep busy, so I handed Gouda, one of my pattern books, and told her to pick out a scarf, well she picked out the curly scarf.  At first glance, I thought that it was going to be harder than it really was.  I stitched up this scarf, in about a day and a half and I only had to pull out stitches twice! WOOHOO!

The yarn I used was Caron Simply Soft in Baby Pink

I Am A Lousy Blogger!

Once again I have to apologize for my absence.  Things have been really hectic around here.  School is almost done for the year! Thank Goodness, I didn't know if we were going to make it, but we did and Gouda made all A's and B's.  We are so proud of her.

As I mentioned in my post a couple of days ago, Schnookie had surgery on the 1st.  He had a relapse and had to go back into the hospital over the weekend.  I am tremendously happy to report that he is once again home and on the mend.  The pain meds knock him out, but he is taking fewer than he was a few days ago.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I did manage to polish my nails late last week, while Schnookie was dosing and I finished my crochet hat and scarf.  I am now working on a new hat and a curly scarf for Gouda.  Of course they will be pink, as this is her signature color.....LOL!!

Anyway, I don't have much longer, I am cooking dinner and waiting for my base coat to dry.  I should be back on schedule, and back to regular blog posts!

Mac Scorcher I wore this for almost 4 days, and I had no chip wear.  I love Mac nail polishes.  I also bought In the Buff, I haven't even swatched this one yet.  I have to apologize for the poor quality, I think that my camera, may need hospice, I am working on getting a new one, please bear with me.  Application on this was kind of touch and go, I needed three coats to even it out.  My picture is leaning a little orange, but it does have a lot of pink in it as well.  I'll redo this mani later next week and try to get better pictures.

This is my finished hat and scarf.  I made both out of 100% wool.  Wool is nice, but it can be rough on the fingers.  I think that I may prefer really soft yarn, but  I am still a newbie to crocheting and yarn.

Now this picture didn't come out so bad, maybe my camera, just hates neons
and almost neon colors? Hmmmm.

Gouda helped me take this photo, she's a good little assistant, although this picture is a little blurry,
I think that you can see the flower detail on the hat.  I used red heart yarn for the flower, not
sure if I like this particular collection of red heart yarn.  This yarn really tore my
fingers up, I had yarn burn for days! LOL!!!

Back To Your Regularly Scheduled Program

Hey Ya'll!

So Sorry for my absence the past few days.  Things at JennyKaye's have been rough this past week.  Schnookie had surgery on Tuesday and thankfully everything with the surgery went well, but he did come out of it with a new issue that according to his fabulous Orthopedic Doctor will work itself out in the next few days.

Getting to the point of the surgery has really been trying, but now that the surgery is over, it's been well worth the wait. I am so excited and happy for him that he won't be in pain (much longer).  I have also been doing a lot of thinking, as I have practically moved into the hospital (Gouda flat out refused to leave on Tuesday so she has been camping out as well).  It's times like this that you really start to think about relationships, especially those with your family.  Our family has been great and it really makes me thankful that we are near them again.

Well we have been officially discharged so I need to start gathering things together and get Schnookie ready to go home!

I'll be back later on today, with my finished crochet scarf and better pictures of my hat!
